Emails Leaked!

Wednesday, April 4, 2012

Honey, I thought it would be better to express myself in an email. I am in a state of mental turmoil since you left home in the morning for work, saying that Mummy-Papa will be coming on Saturday. I believe, they must have planned to stay here for at least a month. They are your parents and have every right to live with us, but right now, I want you to tell them to postpone their trip or make it shorter.

Tinku and Soni don’t need any distraction at this time. This is a crucial year for both of them. You don’t even know how tough the syllabuses of 4th and 2nd grade have become these days. Moreover, the kids get spoiled and out-of control in their presence, and stop listening to me.

The maid has already started showing attitude. Today, when I told her that we were expecting guests, she demanded an increase in salary. This would be an added expense besides the grocery bills, which are going to be tripled.

Here I am, saving every paisa, haggling with vegetable vendors and cutting back on my personal expenses, and your parents think their son has a mine of currency notes. Do they know how expensive school and college education has become these days? We need to save if we want decent education for our children.

Our three-bedroom apartment becomes crowded on their arrival. Not that I have any problem, but they certainly feel confined in a room as they have a whole house at their disposal back home. Please talk to them as soon as possible and let me know what they say.

Sweetheart, YOUR parents are coming on Saturday, not mine. It would be better if YOU talked to them.

Oh really!! Then I need to order a new orthopedic mattress.... Papa can’t sleep on ordinary ones. Don’t worry about the cost. He will compensate....

  3. Not for nothing I have been telling folks you are one of my favourite humourists! What is remarkable, you deliver in quick, small packages which have deep meanings under their boisterously comic exterior. The communication through email, the saucy reversal of roles and emotions were all masterstrokes.
